A B O U T
Charles Williams is an acclaimed Australian film director, writer and producer; winner of more than 60 international awards including Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Palme d'Or.
Growing up in a a remote country town in Victoria, Australia, Charles began making short films in his teens. Since then, his films have screened at more than 200 of the world's most prestigious festivals including Cannes, TIFF, Clermont-Ferrand, Sydney, Telluride, MIFF, Hong Kong, Rotterdam, Busan and SXSW and have sold globally, including to the Criterion Collection.
He is an alumnus of TIFF’s Filmmaker Lab, the Golden Globes HFPA Filmmaker Residency and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences®. 
Charles' debut feature film, INSIDE starring Guy Pearce, Cosmo Jarvis, Vincent Miller, Tammy Macintosh and Toby Wallace was released February 2025 in Australia to critical acclaim, winning the Australian Writers’ Guild Award for Best Original Screenplay.
INSIDE will have its North American premiere at the Tribeca Festival followed by a U.S. theatrical release in June 2025.
